Key takeaways
- Post Code 41/26 (TGT Computer Science, Directorate of Education, Advertisement 03/2026) is examined from 27 November to 4 December 2026.
- There are 18 shifts in total, at 9:00, 13:00 and 17:00, each two hours long.
- 28 November has only the morning shift; 3 December has only the afternoon and evening shifts.
- Your own date, shift and centre are printed only on the admit card, which was not out as of 13 October 2026.
- With about six weeks left, finish the syllabus by mid-November and spend the last ten days on mocks and revision.
The words you will meet
- Post Code 41/26 — DSSSB's code for TGT Computer Science in Advertisement 03/2026. Every notice, result and answer key uses this code, so search for it on the DSSSB website.
- Shift — one two-hour sitting. Different candidates get different shifts; the papers differ, and DSSSB may normalise marks across shifts.
- CBT — computer-based test. You answer on screen; there is no OMR sheet.
- E-admit card — the hall ticket you download from the candidate portal. It is the only document that tells you your own date.
The official schedule
The schedule notice issued on 7 October 2026 lists these days for TGT Computer Science:
| Date | Day | Shifts |
|---|---|---|
| 27 November 2026 | Friday | I, II, III |
| 28 November 2026 | Saturday | I only |
| 30 November 2026 | Monday | I, II, III |
| 1 December 2026 | Tuesday | I, II, III |
| 2 December 2026 | Wednesday | I, II, III |
| 3 December 2026 | Thursday | II, III |
| 4 December 2026 | Friday | I, II, III |
That is 3 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 18 shifts. 29 November, a Sunday, has no TGT CS shift.
Remember: the notice fixes the window, not your date. Plan to be fully ready by 26 November.
Shift timings
| Shift | Time | Reporting |
|---|---|---|
| I | 9:00 – 11:00 | arrive well before the gate-closing time printed on the admit card |
| II | 13:00 – 15:00 | same |
| III | 17:00 – 19:00 | same |
Every shift has the same paper pattern: 200 one-mark questions in 2 hours, with 0.25 marks cut for each wrong answer. The full pattern is in our exam pattern and qualifying marks guide.
Trap: do not assume the evening shift is easier or harder. DSSSB papers in the same exam vary a little from shift to shift, and normalisation exists for exactly that reason. Prepare for the paper, not for the shift.
The admit card
DSSSB releases e-admit cards on its candidate portal a few days before an exam. When it comes, check four things at once:
- Your name, photo and post code (41/26) — any mismatch must be raised with DSSSB immediately.
- Date and shift — copy them into your calendar the same day.
- Centre address — find it on a map and plan the route; Delhi traffic at 8 am and 4 pm is real.
- Reporting and gate-closing time — late entry is not allowed.
Carry the printed admit card and an original photo identity card. Read the instructions printed on the card itself; they override anything you read elsewhere.
How to use the weeks left
Six weeks is enough to qualify if you study by weight. Section B (Computer Science) decides selection, because the minimum qualifying marks apply to Section B and to the total, not to Section A. A good split of the remaining time:
| Weeks before exam | Focus |
|---|---|
| 6 to 3 | Section B heavy topics: networks, operating systems, DBMS, digital logic, web, teaching methodology |
| 3 to 2 | Remaining Section B topics plus daily Section A practice |
| Last 10 days | One full mock every two days, revision sheets, weak areas only |
Our 45-day preparation strategy turns this into a daily plan, and the syllabus guide lists every topic you need.
Remember: a mock under real timing (2 hours, 200 questions) is worth more in the last fortnight than a new chapter. Sit at least three before your date.
What can still change
Dates set by DSSSB can be revised by a later notice. Two habits protect you:
- Check the DSSSB website's notices page every few days, and search for "41/26".
- Keep your login details for the candidate portal saved, so the admit card download takes one minute on the day it appears.
If a notice changes the dates, the shift pattern usually stays the same, so your preparation plan does not need to change — only the final countdown does.
A sample countdown from today
If your exam turns out to be on 27 November, the first day, this is roughly how the time divides from mid-October:
| Period | Days | What to finish |
|---|---|---|
| 14 Oct – 31 Oct | 18 | Networks, OS, DBMS, digital logic, number systems, web |
| 1 Nov – 12 Nov | 12 | Programming (C, C++, Java, Python), data structures, software engineering, teaching methodology |
| 13 Nov – 20 Nov | 8 | Section A daily, remaining CS topics, first two mocks |
| 21 Nov – 26 Nov | 6 | Three more mocks, error log, one-page revision sheets |
If your date is later, the same plan simply gives you extra revision days at the end. Do not slow down early because you hope for a December shift — the admit card decides, and it arrives only days before.
On the exam day
Keep the morning simple. Read the admit card instructions the night before, carry exactly what it lists, and reach early enough that a queue at the gate does not eat into your calm. Inside, the first few minutes decide your pace: start with the section you score fastest in, and keep moving — 200 questions in 120 minutes leaves about 36 seconds per question, so no single question deserves three minutes.
One last practical point: save the official notice PDF on your phone so you can check it offline on the morning of the exam.

No. DSSSB allots the date, shift and centre, and they are printed on the admit card. Candidates cannot pick or swap them. Plan as if any of the dates could be yours - finish your syllabus and at least three full mocks before 27 November so that an early shift does not catch you half-ready.
